Solid Oak Chest / Nightstand / Entry Cabinet — 1982, Refinished

An oak chest from 1982 with four drawers and the pulls routed straight into the fronts, so nothing sticks out. The corners are what sell it: rounded wrapped posts, a mitered top, and grain that keeps running around the edge instead of stopping at a seam. That kind of detail usually got skipped on furniture from this period.

Restoration
Stripped back to bare wood and refinished clear. Most oak from the early eighties has gone orange by now, and taking it back brings out the pale, quiet color the wood actually is. Drawers run smooth, case is square, nothing wobbles.

This is a vintage piece, not a new one. Refinishing takes it a long way, but it doesn't erase forty years — expect light marks here and there. That's part of what you're buying.
