United Furniture Diamond Front Highboy Dresser – Restored Mid-Century Walnut Chest, 1960s

Some pieces of furniture are beautiful because of their simplicity. Others are meant to stand out. This vintage walnut highboy by United Furniture manages to do both.

Dating to the 1960s, this striking dresser features beautifully figured walnut veneer, sculptural diamond-patterned drawer fronts, and a distinctive architectural base. The combination of warm wood tones, geometric detailing, and clean lines captures the character of American mid-century modern design.

What makes this piece particularly special is its unusual front design. The dimensional diamond detailing creates a subtle play of light and shadow, while the natural walnut grain brings warmth and depth to the overall silhouette.

I spent many hours carefully refinishing this dresser by hand, restoring the beauty of the wood while preserving the character that makes vintage furniture so appealing.

At just 40 inches wide, it offers generous storage without taking up too much floor space. Perfect for a bedroom, but equally beautiful as a statement piece in a living room or entryway.

A thoughtfully restored piece of American design history, ready for its next chapter.
